Water World in Strand was transformed into a winter wonderland, bringing the incredible experience of real snow to the Helderberg for the season.

While operations started on Youth Day (Thursday 16 June), the family water park located in Beach Road was officially launched as Snow World on Wednesday evening (22 June). The event was attended by many local families who enjoyed a night of snow sliding fun.

“Creating a magical wonderland that is safe and can be enjoyed by families has been a privilege,” said Director Mark Wilson. “We can’t wait to see what memories will be made at Snow World Strand this year, and we are excited to welcome the public.”

Snow World offers fun for the whole family, and both young and old alike with a solid ice slide, snow ramp and “touch and feel” experience in the snow play area. Adding to the unforgettable undercover winter experience is the larger-than-life display of ice age animals that have been brought back to animatronic life with movement and sound.

Snow World will be open for locals’ enjoyment every day for the school holidays and after until Sunday 14 August. The play park also caters for kiddies parties with four party zones available for bookings in time slots daily.
