Love will be the central theme at Nooitgedacht Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, when the Galileo Open Air Cinema stages its Valentine’s Day screening in celebration of all things love-related on Tuesday 14 February.
Presented in association with Santam, the world-class outdoor movie experience promises to be a night to remember in the winelands for you and your Valentine. The estate’s rolling vineyards, mountain vistas and expansive lawns, shaded by centuries-old oak trees, provides the perfect backdrop for the screening of romantic comedy-drama Marry Me, starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.
The gates open at 17:00, with guests served a complimentary cocktail from Lyre’s non-alcoholic spirits and a handmade Belgian chocolate from Geldhof Chocolatier. There will also be a selection of delicious goodies from the artisanal mini-market on-site.
To add to the Valentine’s festivities, guests will be able to enjoy a pre-show serenade by Ezra, featuring live acoustic jazz, pop, reggae, R&B, blues and rock music. The movie will be screened at 20:00.
Limited tickets at R275 per person can be booked online through www.thegalileo.co.za until Monday 6 February. The cost includes a backrest, blanket, live music, Geldhof chocolate, Lyre’s welcome drink, romantic décor and the movie.
The Galileo will also host other screenings at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens throughout the week of love, starting with Four Weddings and a Funeral (15 February), Pretty Woman (16 February) and Bridget Jones’ Diary (17 February). Musical fans are also in for a treat with Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again set to get feet tapping at the Vredenheim in Stellenbosch on 18 February.
