Speakers will touch on subjects ranging from mental well-being to social media and self-defence at a wellness workshop for teenage girls that will be hosted at Life Retreat Studio, Lourensford Estate from 10:30 to 15:30 on Saturday, 25 February.
It is the first ever Grit, Grow and Glow event established by a team of professional enthusiasts passionate about the development and empowerment of young women between the ages of 13 and 18.
The half-day workshop is aimed at fostering physical, emotional, spiritual and mental wellness through topics, to education and empower, and will include activities such as yoga and self-defence basics.
There will be four speakers covering five pertinent topics impacting the lives of teenage girls today. It will be fun and interactive, and snacks and drinks will be provided.
“We welcome girls of every religion, race and background,” said one of the organisers, Celeste Duthie. “This event is for everyone and we’ve made it affordable to attract as many girls as possible, who added that ticket prices had dropped to R400 per person.
“I know in my life I was faced with certain obstacles and challenges, and the opportunity to benefit from this event will address those very things that affect teenage girls today. It is therefore vital that teenagers take maximum advantage of this workshop, which we will host in a calming, soothing and casual environment.”
