Helderberg Rugby Club hosts the Western Province (WP) Super League A champions False Bay at Charles Morkel Stadium in Strand this Saturday (25 February).
The programme will see the third teams playing on the B-field at 13:35.
The rugby action scheduled for the A-field includes the under-20s at 13:25, followed by the second teams at 14:45 and the main game at 16:00.
The latter will be played in chukkas, with both teams fielding a 30-man squad, which will interchange to serve as trials to establish an obvious pecking order for the upcoming club rugby season.
A tough match is anticipated, as False Bay narrowly won last year’s encounter, played in Constantia, by 24-19.
A fourth team match was also expected, but False Bay cannot field a fourth team at such an early date. – Neels du Toit
