Runners have fun at AfricanX race’s ‘Dress-up Day’

Affectionately known as “Dress-up Day”, Stage 3 of the Pickle Juice AfricanX Trail Run three-day stage race started and finished at the picturesque Houw Hoek Hotel outside Grabouw on Sunday 19 March. Trail running pairs of two had to complete a fantastic ±18km route that included technical trails through fynbos, some lovely trails along the river as well as an iconic climb just over halfway in. Pictured are Somerset West duo Hakeem Smith and Lovemo Nyaude of team HTRCrew Trail Taxi, which secured an overall third place in the Men’s Team category at this year’s event in a well-deserved combined finishing time of 05:59:46 after three days of racing.Photo: Chris Hitchcock
