Information officers will also be on duty campus-wide to assist visitors with directions and general enquiries.

Stellenbosch University (SU) will once again host a full, on-campus open day, when learners, parents and teachers can visit campuses and faculties in person. This is the perfect opportunity for Grade 12 learners to obtain information on study opportunities, financial assistance, accommodation and student life.

The Open Day takes place on Saturday 6 May from 08:00 to 15:00 at both the Stellenbosch and Tygerberg campus.

“The great benefit of an on-campus Open Day is that learners can interact directly with university staff to obtain specific information on the various fields of study,” says Magdel Pretorius, Acting Deputy Director at SU’s Division for Student Recruitment.

Visitors to the Stellenbosch campus have the option of starting their day of exploration at the general information stalls (welcoming area) in front of the Conservatory in Victoria Street. Repeated throughout the day will be information sessions on, among others, how to apply for funding and residences. Walk-in services are available for international students, SA students and international curriculums and students with special learning needs.

Learners and parents have to book tickets in advance. Only three tickets are available per family. Tickets are available at www.quicket.co.za – free of charge. Access the programme at www.maties.com.

Private accommodation entities, private institutions, Maties Sport and Maties Gym will be strutting their stuff on the Rooiplein, while the residences will also be open to visitors.

Information officers will also be on duty campus-wide to assist visitors with directions and general enquiries.

Online Open Day

In addition, SU also created an open day website for learners and parents who cannot attend the on-campus open day. This virtual platform is available at https://blogs.sun.ac.za/open-day/ and will stay open until 31 July, when applications close.
