For the past 36 years Helderberg Hospice has been a beacon of hope and compassion for individuals in the Helderberg community who are facing life-limiting illnesses.
The organisation’s purpose is simple, yet profound: to facilitate quality of life and alleviate suffering within the community so people experience peace, comfort and dignity when it matters most.
Helderberg Hospice believes that in the face of adversity, no one should walk alone. That’s why community support plays a vital role in its ability to deliver the highest quality palliative care to patients and their families. It is through the kindness, generosity and solidarity of locals that the organisation is able to make a meaningful difference.
Helderberg Hospice invites Helderbergers to join the organisation in strengthening access to compassionate palliative care. The much-needed support can truly transform lives and, together, it can bring comfort, healing and compassion to those who need it most.
Garden of Remembrance upgrade
Imagine stepping into a garden that radiates tranquillity and serenity, providing solace amid life’s greatest challenges. At Helderberg Hospice, the profound impact of a peaceful environment on the emotional well-being of patients and their families is recognised. That’s why the organisation is reaching out the compassionate Helderberg community to emphasise the critical need for improvements in its Garden of Remembrance.
This sanctuary is where patients and their families find solace, retreat from overwhelming emotions and reflect on cherished memories. To fully serve its purpose, the sacred space requires enhancements that will elevate its healing power.
Contribute to hospice’s Mandela Day wish-list, help pave the way to accessibility, ensure a sustainable water supply with JoJo tanks and add other essential items. The support will create an inviting and peaceful atmosphere, nurturing the emotional well-being of patients.
Patient Room and Ward upgrade
Within the walls of Helderberg Hospice’s 24-hour Support Centre, a haven of comfort and care for patients during their stay is provided. The organisation understands the significance of a healing environment, and that a patient’s room is not merely a space for medical care; it is their sanctuary, a place where they find solace and healing.
To enhance the healing experience, hospice requires regular and specific upgrades. By contributing to its Patient Ward Mandela Day Wish List, locals can help paint the walls with soothing colours, provide comfortable furniture and create a warm and welcoming ambience. This will empower patients to focus on their well-being and find peace in their surroundings..
