Drug bust in Chris Nissen Park

A 21-year-old man is expected to appear in the Somerset West Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of drugs and possession of an illegal firearm following his arrest last Tuesday (19 September). This after Somerset West police reacted to a tip-off of drugs at a residence in Chris Nissen Park at 20:00 on Tuesday. Sergeant Suzan Jantjies, spokesperson for Somerset West police, confirmed that on investigation of the residence, officers discovered and confiscated several Mandrax-tablets, tik, dagga and an illegal firearm. The estimated street value of the drugs is believed to be around R350 000.
