Parel Valleiers also shone during the third annual Filmit Festival, hosted by Paul Roos Gymnasium at The Homecoming Centre in Cape Town on Friday 10 November. High-school filmmakers from across the country could enter in one or more of the following categories: Advertising, Documentaries, Music Videos, Animation films, ‘other’ films and the ever-so-popular Short Film. Parel Vallei was among the top-performing schools at the glamorous event, clinching the title of Best Animation for Patches by Emma Rose Parker (pictured, centre). All the Filmit winners received a trophy, a cash prize (R750 – R3 000) and a mentoring session with an industry professional, which will take place in 2024.
