The Macassar Youth Desk addressed learners of Marvin Park Primary School, giving an informative talk on the negative effects of drugs and bullying outside in the quad of the school on Monday 18 March. The visit was coordinated by Macassar police’s Warrant Officer Desire Adendolf who forms part of the Youth Desk. She confirmed that child trafficking was also discussed with the pupils. The visit which started at 08:30 not only involved representatives from the Macassar Youth Desk and Macassar police, but also colleagues from Correctional Services, and community organisation Reach Out To Others (Roto) and Spiritual Crime Prevention Forum members. The discussion also covered the Junior Commissioner Project (JCP), a programme that sees students collaborate with police on community projects.
