Youths could tap knowledge from this group of working individuals who each represented a career field, offering information about their companies, line of work and what their job entails at various stalls.
A special demonstration was on display by firefighters of the Somerset West Fire Station. The three firemen had both young and old alike engaged with a how-to on using the mechanical jaws of life, talk on what the calling to risk their lives for others entails and insight into gearing up for the selfless job, which requires wearing a fire-retardant uniform.
Lauren Cronje of Merand Recruitment took to the stage with a special address, inspiring youngsters with the message that whatever career they pursue, they have been “marked” by Jesus who has a plan and purpose for their lives. She further implored youngsters in pursuit of their dream careers to ensure that they are “marked”, an acronym meaning that they have the Motivation, the right Attitude, possess the necessary Resilience, hone a strong Character, are willing to go the Extra mile, and the required Discipline.
