The City of Cape Town’s Urban Waste Management Directorate started upgrading the Gordon’s Bay Drop-off facility on Wednesday 21 August.
The upgrade project involves repairing the ramp and installing concrete barriers to improve safety measures and optimise the functioning of the facility, and to ensure the safety of residents while they are dropping off their recyclable and waste items. The upgrade is expected to last about 14 weeks. During this time, the facility will remain operational, but users may experience some delays and disruptions.
Residents can use alternative drop-off sites to avoid these possible delays. Swartklip and Faure facilities are the closest alternatives, however a full list of the City’s drop-off sites can be found on the City website.
The City apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your patience and cooperation during this time.
