Among life’s greatest treasures are the wisdom, warmth, and wonder that grandparents bring. Grandparents are children’s first teachers of patience, their storytellers of family history, and their greatest examples of unconditional love. On Friday (27 March), the staff of Play Way Pre-primary School in Helderzicht, Somerset West, paused to honour these remarkable individuals who enrich their preschooler’s lives in countless ways, creating bonds that will be treasured for generations to come. Rekindling ties at the event were Mzimkhulu and Nichume Bonongo, Theresa Marinus and Elijah Swartz, Dorothy Joka and Athaylia Coetzee, and Ursula Joseph and Matthew Adenhoff. Photo: Jamey Gordon
Carol and Joseph Hartzenberg beam with pride as the grandparents of five-year-old Riley Benjamin at the special celebration.
