A sombre atmosphere hung over the R102 on the morning of Tuesday 23 December, as a group of Sixty60 delivery drivers gathered at the scene where one of their colleagues lost his life in a fatal accident.

The incident occurred near the entrance of Kelderhof Country Village.
Provincial police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed the crash occurred at 08:22.
According to police reports, the collision involved a Toyota FJ Cruiser and a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as a 23-year-old foreign national, tragically succumbed to his injuries on scene.
“The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently under investigation,” Van Wyk said.
Macassar police are investigating a case of culpable homicide and have called on the public for assistance.
โข In a separate incident, Lwandle police have opened an inquest docket into the death of a woman in Asanda Village on New Year’s Day (Thursday 1 January).
According to a police report, the 23-year-old was found dead at a residence in Solomon Drive, Asanda Village, at 08:30. It is believed the deceased went to sleep but never woke up.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
