Strand Rotary distributes 150 beanies at Gordon's Bay Library for Mandela Day with ACVV representatives
In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Strand Rotary Club members gathered at the Gordon’s Bay Library on Friday 18 July to distribute 150 warm beanies to various deserving organisations as part of their Mandela Day activities. Helderberg communities embraced the spirit of Madiba on Friday 18 July as they dedicated 67 minutes and more to various acts of service, honouring the enduring legacy of Nelson Mandela. From bustling centers to quieter neighbourhoods, residents rolled up their sleeves to make a tangible difference.

Drummies girls from Dr GJ Joubert School also had a chance to pick out a beanie at Gordon’s Bay Library in the event organised by Strand Rotary.
Mandela Day volunteers from Unashamedly Ethical interact with children at Hope & Light Village Sir Lowry's Pass
Hope & Light Children’s Village in Sir Lowry’s Pass were treated to a visit by Unashamedly Ethical and Eagles Rising Leadership Academy, who spent time conducting a clean-up before interacting with the children, shared laughs, dance and song and also treated the children to a meal. While the organisation itself is based in Somerset West, Unashamedly Ethical is a movement that encourages individuals and organisations to publicly commit to ethics, values, and clean living. As deel van die Mandeladag-viering het die Strand-dienssentrum (SDS) ‘n oefensessie vir bejaardes aangebied. SDS is ‘n nie-winsgewende diensorganisasie wat omsien na pensioentrekkers. Dean Brits van Fitness Warriors het die oefening by die sentrum in De Villiersstraat 30, Strand, gelei. ACVV Somerset-Wes en aanklaers van Somerset Wes deel sop uit by Chris Nissen Park op Mandeladag
Die Afrikaanse Christelike Vrouevereniging (ACVV) van Somerset-Wes het vandag (18 Julie) saam met die aanklaerskantoor van die Somerset-Wes-landdroshof Tata Mandela se gees van gee na die Chris Nissen Park-gemeenskap gebring. Die kinderbeskermingsdiens en aanklaers het warm sop en broodjies aan inwoners uitgedeel, geskenk deur die Helderberg-gemeente Somerset-Wes, vir hul toegewyde 67 minute van diens.
