Kids Company Montessori Integrated Preschool teamed up with Natural Energy Surf Store, Helderberg Ocean Awareness Movement (HOAM) and Drum for Life as they hosted a beach clean-up and family picnic on Friday 28 February.
The parents and children were educated by Lisa Starr of HOAM on how to protect oceans and keep them clean before the successful beach clean up. Afterwards, families enjoyed a picnic while watching the sun go down and had fun with a drumming circle and fire-dancer entertainment.
Parents hailed the event as “fantastic” and stated that it built community and helped care for the beautiful surroundings while laying a firm foundation in young minds on how to care for and protect our planet.
