The Strand and Gordon’s Bay coastline is gearing up for world-class water sports action as Powerboat Racing SA (PBRSA) hosts the 2026 International Inflatable Super Series from 25 September to 3 October 2026.

Bringing together top-tier racers under the banner “United by Speed,” the tournament will test pilot endurance and agility across three core disciplines: Surf, Circuit, and Longhaul.

The week-long event starts on Friday 25 September, with opening functions hosted at the Gordon’s Bay Yacht Club (GBYC).

Over 40 teams have entered, including teams from South Africa, Namibia, and USA.

The competitive racing officially gets underway over the weekend with the thrilling Surf Circuit at Strand Beach on Saturday 26 September and Sunday 27 September.

Both race days will begin at 09:00, following an 08:00 pilot briefing.

100km Longhaul

Following a rest day on Monday for testing and practice, action shifts on Tuesday 29 September, to the gruelling 100km Longhaul race starting at GBYC at 09:00. With no fuel or beach stops permitted, the rolling-start event will showcase pure strategy and high-speed endurance.

After a second rest day on Wednesday, racing returns to the GBYC on Thursday 1 October and Friday 2 October, for two consecutive days of fast-paced Circuit Racing starting at 09:00 each morning.

The tournament will conclude on Saturday 3 October with a final technical inspection followed by the official prize-giving ceremony at 18:00 and an afterparty hosted by GBYC.
