Bryson DeChambeau is returning to South African soil, and this time he’s teeing it up at the iconic Sun City for his maiden appearance at the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
The announcement, delivered this week by golf legend Gary Player alongside DeChambeau himself, has sent ripples of excitement through the South African golfing community ahead of the tournament’s 3-6 December dates.
For the 32-year-old American bomber, South Africa already holds a special place in his golfing heart. His debut visit to the Rainbow Nation earlier in March proved nothing short of spectacular when he claimed individual honours at LIV Golf’s inaugural Steyn City event, leaving galleries absolutely spellbound with his trademark long-driving prowess.
“Mr Player, it’s official. I’m coming back to South Africa to play in your tournament. I can’t wait. It’s an honour to be part of this,” DeChambeau declared.

The Black Knight was visibly delighted by the major champion’s commitment to the event. “We are excited. What you did at Steyn City, we haven’t seen anything like that before. It was incredible, the people went absolutely wild for you,” Player enthused.
“It’s a privilege that you’re coming back to play in my tournament. The people are going to be absolutely thrilled when they hear you’re on your way to compete here.”
DeChambeau’s inclusion adds serious star power to the Nedbank Golf Challenge field, promising fireworks at the Gary Player Country Club as the American’s aggressive, science-driven approach meets one of South Africa’s most demanding championship layouts.
