CAPE TOWN: The police in Cape Town have made a breakthrough in the brazen robbery of two different businesses in Khayamandi and Bellville after arresting three suspects.

The police also recovered significant quantities of stolen goods. The arrested individuals are aged between 30 and 40. They were arrested on Thursday, 16 October. Police investigations are ongoing regarding the two separate robbery incidents.

Capt. Frederick Van Wyk, spokesperson for the Cape Town police, said members of the Maitland Flying Squad traced and arrested three men hours after the robbery of the clothing retailer in Khayamandi. He said members received reliable information that led to the arrest and recovery of items taken from the store. Van Wyk said the trio’s arrest led to the recovery of essential items stolen from a different shop in Bellville.

“The members arrested the suspects on Kruskal Avenue, Bellville. They confiscated a total of 51 cell phones that were stolen from the store in Khayamandi as well as a different shop in Bellville. All recovered items are estimated to be worth R500,000, combined,” said Van Wyk.
