BLOEMFONTEIN – The police in Bloemfontein have launched a manhunt for a potential suspect regarding the theft of an undisclosed amount of money at a Navalsig store.
The public is urged to assist in this case of theft, investigated by the Navalsig Police Station.
Capt. Loraine Earle, provincial spokesperson for the police, said a suspect had disappeared following the incident which reportedly occurred on 31 August. She said a warrant of arrest has been issued.
“It is alleged that the suspect gained access to the keys of the store’s safe and then used them to open the safe, from which thousands of rands in cash were stolen,” confirmed Earle. She said according to information, the suspect was working as a security guard at the place of business.
The police have identified an individual, Sboniso Nkabinde (28), as someone who might have information that could assist in the investigation.
“Anyone who has information regarding his whereabouts, is requested to immediately notify the police,” said Earle. Anyone with information about Nkabinde’s whereabouts can contact the investigating officer, Const. Kyle Thomas, on 082 236 0609 at the Navalsig Detective Services.
