The funeral service for Sergeant Mahlomola Peter Kareli, spokesperson for the Free State police, will take place on Saturday 19 September at Kananelo High School in Phomolong, Kroonstad.

Kareli (47) died on 9 September due to ill health.

The service will start at 08:00.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday 17 September at 12:00 at Bobbiespark in Hospital Park.

Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in the Free State, Lt Genl Solly Lesia, said Kareli’s passing has left the Free State SAPS family deeply saddened.

“He was a familiar and trusted voice of the organisation, serving as an important link between the police, the media, and the communities of the Free State,” Lesia said.

Lesia expressed condolences to Kareli’s family, friends, and colleagues.
