The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is bringing global MMA to Africa for the first time, and it’s happening right here in Cape Town.
The historic PFL Cape Town event takes place on Saturday 19 July, at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, marking a major milestone in the PFL’s international expansion.
This landmark showcase will feature the debut of the PFL Africa Tournament, kicking off with First Round match-ups in the Heavyweight and Bantamweight divisions, both structured as eight-man brackets.
Aside from these tournament clashes the event will deliver five major bouts as part of the PFL Champions Series, spotlighting elite fighters from around the world.
PFL Africa Card will start at 16:30 and the PFL Champions Series will start at 20:30.
Headlining Bouts
- Johnny “Pressure” Eblen (16-0), undefeated Middleweight World Champion, defends his title against Spain’s Costello “The Spaniard” van Steenis (16-3).
- Dakota “Dangerous” Ditcheva (14-0), a Women’s Flyweight star, takes on Sumiko “Lady Samurai” Inaba (8-1) in a high-stakes co-main event.

- Former Bellator champ AJ “Mercenary” McKee (22-2) returns to face Russia’s rising star Akhmed Magomedov (11-1).
- Heavyweight showdown: Corey Anderson (18-6) moves up a division to meet Denis Goltsov (36-8).
- Returning PFL fighter Artur Zaynukov (16-4) goes head-to-head with Japan’s Takeshi Izumi (6-3), a RIZIN veteran and decorated wrestler.
