This sentencing follows a rape that occurred on Sunday, 31 March 2019. The 24-year-old victim from Thibella Village, alleged that she had returned home from a local tavern, entered her house, locked the door, and gone to bed.

During the night, while she was asleep, she felt someone touching her and realised it was her brother.

Out of fear, she could not scream. The suspect proceeded to undress and rape her several times before fleeing the scene through a broken door.

The victim immediately reported the matter to the police. The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged with rape.
