WATCH: Schools bring local flair to DTBS Flashes 2026

CAPE TOWN – Parents, friends and alumni came together at the DHL Cape Town Stadium for the annual DTBS Flashes fanfare this morning (Saturday 7 February).

The four participating northern suburbs high schools—DF Akademie, Tygerberg, Bellville and Stellenberg—gave it their all in the hopes of winning this year’s Flashes trophy, each performance showcasing elements with a local flair.

The winner will be announced later in the day, along with the winners of the “Gees” and athletics trophies, at the conclusion of the DTBS athletics meeting at the Greenpoint athletics track.

School performances

Here are their Flashes, in order of appearance:

Tygerberg High School – “Heritage”

DF Akademie – “Listen up!”

Stellenberg High School – “Local is Lekker”

Hoërskool Bellville – “Monopoly”

The schools ended the display with a special flash to thank the event’s main sponsor, STADIO Higher Education.
