Police arrest two foreign nations for tripple murder
Police searching for suspects regarding fatal shooting of three women

FICKSBURG – Swift police action has led to the arrest of two suspects, aged 26 and 29, following a gruesome triple murder that occurred in Meqheleng on Friday 16 January.

Police launched an immediate intelligence-led multidisciplinary response, resulting in the arrests within 24 hours of the incident.

During the manhunt operation, one suspect was intercepted at a taxi rank whilst attempting to flee to a neighbouring country. The second suspect was discovered by anti-gang unit operators hiding in a house within Meqheleng.

The motive for the killings remains unknown at this stage. Both suspects are expected to appear before the Meqheleng Magistrate’s Court on murder charges.

Authorities are appealing to anyone with information that may assist with the investigation to come forward and contact detective WO Mbele of the serious and violent crime, murder and robbery unit on 079 760 9530.
