Recent crime concerns in the area
This latest incident follows another violent crime targeting an elderly resident in the upmarket suburb earlier this month. On 12 December, an 85-year-old man was assaulted during a house break-in at his home in Petrel Close when three armed suspects forced entry through a wooden sliding door in the early hours of the morning.
During that incident, the homeowner was beaten and robbed of his firearm and cellphone after confronting the intruders. The victim sustained injuries to his face, body and legs but recovered after receiving medical treatment.
