Another thrilling weekend of international rugby saw some upsets and heroic come backs. Ruck.co.uk has named three South Africans as the best performers of the previous weekend.
South Africa’s Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, tops the list of the best performers. The former Bishops, learner has had a mercurial rise since his debut for the Boks against Wales in 2024. Although he qualified to play for England he decided to don the green and gold instead. Before making his senior debut he made six appearances for the SA u.20 team. His contract with Western Province was recently extended to 2027.
Feinberg-Mngomezulu, is known for his versatility and vision on the field. He has a reputation for his ability to make decisive plays, such as scoring a try from an audacious dummy or making a precise cross-kick. In September against Argentina, he surpassed Percy Montgomery’s longstanding record of most points in a game (35) when he scored 37 of the boks’ 67 points. He scored a hattrick and kicked 10 from 11 to the posts, eight conversions and two penalties. In the match against Argentina and again against France over the weekend he was named as the man of the match.
Other highlights include winning the Vodacom Player of the Season award in June 2025 and being nominated for World Rugby’s Breakthrough Player of the Year award.
