West Coast College’s top welder Siyabonga Matlakala is officially an artisan.
Matlakala, formerly of the College’s Vredenburg Campus, won a bronze medal at the WorldSkills SA Welding competition.
“We are very proud of Siyabonga and know that he will do well in his future,” said Leon Koopman, Welding Instructor at Vredenburg Campus.
Siyabonga recently completed his Engineering Studies specialising in Welding.
“We hope that this achievement of Siyabonga will encourage other prospective students that are currently busy with registration at the Campus to apply for engineering studies,” adds Koopman.
Siyabonga says he is thankful to the College for the support and training.
