A Youth Leadership Development Programme was launched at Weston High School on Friday 3 May.
It was spearheaded by Edu-Bizz, consisting of retired educators and businesspeople and Weston High School. More than 40 learners in leadership positions at the school participated in it.
The leadership event’s objectives were to educate, coach and offer chances for leadership development at schools, and raise awareness of the significance of consistently empowering and developing the next generation of leaders.
Objectives included developing a deeper understanding of what a leader is, recognising various leadership philosophies, comprehending their roles and functions within school-leadership structures, improving teamwork, building confidence and developing and strengthening civic commitment.
Mario Green, a representative of Edu-Bizz, said the group was committed to empowering the next generation of leaders by providing them with the guidance and resources they need to succeed. “Through collaborative initiatives such as this workshop we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of young people of the West Coast.”
Edwena Snyer of Snyer Business Consulting (SBC) said the initiative was made possible through the generous support of Glenryck/Pioneer Fishing, which is committed to community development and resonates deeply with the workshop’s mission. “Its sponsorship not only facilitated the event, but also underscored its dedication to investing in the future of the West Coast community. The success of the leadership workshop serves as a testament to the collective efforts of Edu-bizz, SBC and Glenryck/Pioneer Fishing.”
