After five years of hard slog Pieter Lindenberg completed his gripping autobiography Flat out and Fearless: the story of Pieter Lindenberg.
The popular West Coast resident gives insight into his life experiences and achievements.
According to Lindenberg he wrote the book as a way to get others to see that when the chips are down one can always come out on top. “It’s also intended to inspire people to change their circumstances and be positive and turn things around as I have so many times,” he said. “I had to tell the truth and admit to my mistakes and failures, and relive what was extremely tough on me and my family. We are all in an amazing place now and I am so proud, but this was a tough process. I was often brought to tears when reliving, writing and reading some of the stories.”
Flat out and Fearless is Peter’s cut-to-the-chase life journey that has rendered him a bionic man who is proud of his blatant honesty and courageous quest to uplift and transform the lives of the downtrodden. Through the book, Lindenberg said people will see how things link up and how a life path is made up of a series of life experiences, one succeeding another. “I have been broken down a million times and have chosen to get back up and fight back,” he said. “There are many stories of success, failure, near-death, emotional turmoil, family issues and more.”
For any writer the end-product is always a source of pride. For Lindenberg it was about putting it all out there and not holding back, using aliases instead of people’s real names where necessary, so everyone featured in the book could be protected.
“It should be a very motivational read for people facing challenges, and what they should learn from it is that it doesn’t matter how tough things look, if you concentrate on the things you can control and influence, and use your energy in the right direction, you will more than likely come out on top.” The book is available online and in stores.
