The Noord Civils/Prime Growth invitational is in its third week and teams are duelling it out on the field.
Although there was no game between Noord Civils/Prime Growth and the Sussex Lions the other teams delivered on the cricket action.
Watergat Langebaan took on Brookby Warriors and beat the latter with five wickets. Oxigim Superheroes triumph against the Sea Harvest Penguins with 75 runs.
The top batsman was Loutjie van Wyk from the Oxigim Superheroes with 191 runs. Barry Vraagom was the top bowler of the day and did the Sea Harvest Penguins proud with five wickets over 12 overs. Four other bowlers took five wickets on the day, but it was Vraagom’s 6-ball economy that give him the best bowling stats of Saturday.
The current tournament log standings has Oxigim Superheroes in the top spot with Noord Civils/Prime Growth in second place. The rest of the log has Sea Harvest Penguins in third place, the Brookly Warriors fourth, followed by Watergat Langebaan. The Sussex Lions, currently bottom-of-the-log, are surely looking to improve their standings.
This weekend will see Watergat Langebaan take on Noord Civils/Prime Growth, Sussex Lions vs Sea Harvest Penguins and Oxigim taking on the Brookby Warriors.
The tournament final is set for Saturday 21 May.
