The 6th annual Velddrif mile and 3 km swim event takes place this year at the Port Owen Marina in Velddrif.
The event is taking place on Saturday 12 November and is open to all levels of fitness and is split into three different categories.
The 500 m fun swim is open to all ages and all levels of fitness. Swimmers for the fun event can dress up for a shot at the prize for best dressed.
Assisted swimming devices like lilo’s and pool noodles are also allowed for this leg of the race. This fun race is a great way to get the whole family involved.
The official Velddrif mile 1,6 km swim is for the more adventurous at heart and swimmers with a bit more stamina. The 3 km advanced swim is the more serious race and a great training session for open- water swimmers. Both categories are open to skins and wetsuits.
Fantastic prizes and other exciting lucky draw prizes will be up for grabs. The end of the race and prize giving will take place at the Port Owen Yacht Club.
A variety of food options will be available for purchase during and after the event. Spectators are most welcome to cheer on the swimmers.
