Two people died in a taxi accident just after midnight on the morning of Sunday 9 June.
The driver of a minibus taxi lost control while turning into Kooitjieskloof Street, Louwville, in front of Mason’s Funeral Services.
The taxi rolled and came to a halt next to the pavement.
One of the passengers, Nosakhele Kongile (51), died at the scene while the driver, Mohale Lehata (45), and the other passengers were taken to Vredenburg Provincial Hospital for treatment. Lehata later succumbed to his injuries.
Capt Tania Helfrich, spokesperson for the West Coast Police District, said that Vredenburg police is investigating a case of culpable homicide.
