Young tennis player Majesty Masanga.

Known as the queen of the tennis court, an opportunity of a lifetime has crossed the path of Majesty Masanga.

The 10-year-old from Langebaan has caught the eye of Advantage Tennis Academy Egypt, which has invited her to participate in its Summer High Performance training camp along with other top national and international junior tennis players.

To make this a reality Majesty needs the help of the community to help her gather funding or any form of assistance for her flights, accommodation, tennis equipment and so on.

She shared that she fell in love with tennis at age 6, and knew then she was going to soar.

Majesty told Weslander this tour would be the best thing that has ever happened to her.

“I would really want to improve my career and become one of the best tennis players in history. I see myself as the next Serena Williams.”

Majesty’s greatest support is her parents.

“My biggest supporters are my mom and dad, and there’s also one of my teachers at school.

“My mom is the best because she is always by my side and pushing me to my limits, and my dad helps me to realise how much I love tennis and learning the art of the game.

“Teacher Talita is also one of my best supporters, because she tells me I can do it every day and encourages me to do more.”

Her mother, Nolwazi, said seeing the love and dedication Majesty has put into her tennis makes her proud.

“We have travelled to other provinces to play tournaments, and each trip always felt like achieving a professional dream.

“Now, an international experience is set to boost her confidence even further.

“I think this will assure her that her dream of playing and winning Wimbledon one day is only a step away.”
