The Langebaan Football Club (LFC) held its trials last Saturday to scout new talent for the local team.
The soccer season kicks off in September, and the players were sure to put their best footwork forward this past weekend. According to coach Nkosinathi “Junior” Khambi the talent on display at the trials was great to see. “It was wonderful to see the West Coast talent and I believe there are two or three players who can make it to trials in Spain,” he said. “The local players are surely set for greatness.”
The club has five teams. Players are divided into u-12, u-14, u-16 teams as well as senior players, who play in the SAB and LAF divisions. Although the dates for the season had not yet been finalised, Khambi said the teams were gearing up for it and staying fighting fit for the coming season.
