Strandlopers rewarded for sporting achievement

Vredenburg High School held its year-end prize giving on Thursday 10 October. Three junior Strandlopers Caitlyn Schlehmeyer, Santino Appels and Nicolette Schlehmeyer were each awarded for their athletic achievements. Caitlyn was awarded the Bertus Pienaar Trophy (senior sports girl), Bakkies Louw Trophy (best sport achievement), VHS floating trophy (best girls athlete), Koos Meiring Trophy (best cross country athlete). She also received full honours for Cross Country and half honours for Athletics. Santino received the Holmes Trust floating trophy (best track athlete), VHS floating trophy (best male athlete), F.N. Matthee floating trophy (best single performance), Derick Botha floating trophy (junior sports boy). Nicolette received the Pikkie Oosthuizen floating trophy (best sports achievement) by a Grade 12 learner.Foto:
