The Saldanha Bay Municipality shows off their 20 Peace Officer graduates.

A total of 59 Peace Officers (PO) across three municipalities graduated in the Western Cape.

Saldanha Bay Municipality (SBM) is one of the three. SBMs 20 POs received their certificates between Monday 10 and Wednesday 12 March.

Western Cape Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Anroux Marais, welcomed the graduation of these officers who worked hard throughout the Peace Officer and Traffic Warden training programme and who will be assisting with maintaining law and order by helping to implement effective crime prevention strategies.

“We are equipping these young women and men with the skills they need to further their careers in law enforcement.

“I urge young people to take up this opportunity not only to enhance your careers but to also make a difference in our communities,” said Marais.

She added that the department will continue to invest in capacitating municipalities through their Peace Officer project to create a society in which lawlessness in any form is not tolerated.
