Sanzaf visited St Helena Primary School with its winter warmth programme.

Making sure every child is warm this winter is the mission of the South African National Zakáh Fund (Sanzaf).

Sanzaf personnel visited St Helena Primary on Thursday 17 June to initiate its winter warmth outreach.

The learners were provided with a meal, goodie bags, rain jackets, scarfs and more. Sheikh Muhammad Nur, a representive of Sanzaf in the West Coast for the past four years, says it was amazing seeing the children happy and knowing that they will be warm.

He says he became involved with Sanzaf as he saw a great need among the community.

“The outreach was also initiated two years ago at Panorama Primary and was a huge success,” says Nur.

The cleric says he will continue to help those in need, and he is happy to be an instrument for the well-being of others and to play a role in society.
