On Saturday 25 June, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) St Helena Bay started recruiting volunteers from the area and its surrounds.

These volunteers will train as Sea Rescue Crew members who will respond to all sea-related emergencies.

St Helena Bay is a busy fishing village, and the NSRI has seen the need to establish a rescue station in the town. All rescue stations are manned and managed by local volunteers.

The initiative received a lot of support from the community. Anyone wanting to join or support the sea rescue station can contact Station 4 on 082 990 5966 for more information.
