Nurse Rozaan Nel, Helen Blom (nursing assistant) and Verusca Franzman (Mrs South Africa semi-finalist) at Blomtuin Day Care Centre.

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Verusca Franzman, Mrs South Africa Semi-Finalist, nurse Rozaan Nel and assisting nurse Helen Blom visited a Blomtuin Day Care Centre in Vredenburg to educate the children on importance of oral health. The outreach program, which targeted children between the ages of 4 – 6, aimed to promote healthy habits.

The interactive session was designed to be fun and engaging with the children participating in toothbrushing demonstration and learning about consequences of poor oral health. To make the experience even more special, Dr Rodney Barclay from Dental Touch in Langebaan generously donated gift bags filled with goodies for the children.

Nel said that as a nurse it was a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and promote healthy habits and make a positive impact on the lives of these children.

Franzman shared her enthusiasm for this initiative and said it has been an incredible experience to be part of this outreach program.

“Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces and knowing we’re making a difference in their lives is truly rewarding”
