The Western Province Live Steamers will bring two of its model steam locomotives to Denlyn Park Market on Saturday 24 February, from 09:00 to 13:00.

This is a fantastic opportunity to ride on a model steam train, and people of all ages are invited. The cost is purely by donation, which is used for the community of Langebaan and the upliftment of the park.

The club Western Province Live Steamers is a registered non-profit organisation, and is dedicated to the preservation and development of miniature steam, diesel and electric locomotives.

Based in Parow, it was founded in 1980 by the late Jack Love, who had a passion for building and running miniature steam locomotives.

For its first 13 years the club was based at the Goodwood showgrounds, but with the help of the then-Parow Municipality it moved to its current location in the area.

The members built their own club house, laid tracks and built a little rail empire.

In a coordinated effort, Denlyn P.L.A.Y Park and the Western Province Live Steamers would like to showcase these mini-locos and invites the Langebaan community to come along and take a ride and support the stalls.
