The newly appointed Provincial Minister of Community Safety and Police Oversight in the Western Cape, Reagen Allen, attended Bergrivier Municipality’s Safety Summit last month.
The event in Piketberg saw various safety initiatives showcased, and Allen was introduced to local safety role-players. This was the minister’s first visit to the town in this portfolio, within 30 days of taking office.
Allen was informed of operations taking place at the Active Box, with its video cameras tracking movement of vehicles, by recording vehicles’ registration plates as well as people in the various towns of the Bergrivier area. The Bergrivier Municipality would like to thank all its partners and stakeholders who made this event a fruitful engagement.
