The Laguna Mall 10 km and 5 km races took place on Saturday 23 April in somewhat cold and windy conditions at Laguna Mall in Langebaan.
The event was sponsored by Seeff, Wimpy, FPG and Club Mykonos, and presented by Laguna Mall in conjunction with Club Mykonos Multisport.
A hundred and sixty athletes took part in the 10 km run, while 147 athletes participated in the 5 km fun run.
Athletes from all over the Western Province and Boland took part in the event. Medals were handed to all the athletes that took part, and apart from the prizes for all category winners there were also a number of lucky-draw prizes up for grabs.
The winners for the two events were:
Men 10 km – Siyabonga Sakwe of Nedbank in a time of 33:54
Ladies 10 km – Christiane Adriaanse of Nedbank in a time of 45:22
Men 5 km – Dinano Fallet of Langebaan Athletics Club in a time of 17:16
Ladies 5 km – Ashali Paulwin of Langebaan Athletics Club in a time of 21:30.
