Ben Mdluli, a chess player of the Genesis Chess Club and learner of Louwville High School, reached an incredible milestone when he held Grandmaster Dana Reizniece to a draw during her simul at Louwville High School. Impressed by his performance, she gifted him a chess clock worth R1 795, a token of recognition, encouragement and pride for both him and the entire club. Coach Lyndon Julies said the players had grown tremendously and he could not be prouder as their coach. “Watching their progress, not only in chess but in life, is truly inspiring. Chess is more than just a game; it’s a reflection of life itself. Every move teaches a lesson, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow.”
