Making his big debut on the song Chom, Zakhe Ntshakaza could have never imagined it would blow up like this.

The 24-year-old from Vredenburg known by his stage name Inkosi Yama Ndebele features on the song released by Tallrickyworldwide and has been making waves on TikTok. The verse challenge on TikTok has been done by many and has even been done by the cast of Isitha: The Enemy.

Inkosi said he is really grateful for the love. “I can’t even put it in words how grateful I am for the love I’m currently receiving from people. To be honest, I knew the song was fire, but I never expected my verse to blow up like this. It gained traction in a short period of time. It gave me mixed emotions. It’s surprising and shocking, but at the same time it brings unexplainable joy. People really love the verse.”

Inkosi explains that the song gained traction even way before it was released. He said that a snippet of the song was released and made its way all over social media.

“Zolani Jama, a guy that I work very closely with, and who’s a well-known figure in the music industry, then recommended me to Tallricky, the owner of the song, to feature me. The song already had well-established people on it, some already requesting to be on it, but Riky gave me a chance. Shout out to him and Zolani Jama for trusting me to be on the song.”

Inkosi’s love for music started back in 2012 when he used to write verses, but never really released them. In 2014 he along with a group of friends started a rap group. “A few songs that blew massively around the West Coast, so I’d say things started making sense and taking a direction from that time.”

For Inkosi, music means everything. “I see myself doing more music. The people give my music so much love so I have to deliver more to them. I see myself focusing more on my music career and taking everything step by step as it comes.”
