During the school holidays members of Vredenburg Kickboxing made their way to Cape Town to represent South Africa against Canada.
Over the weekend of 7 and 8 July the locals were accompanied by their coach, sensei Hendrik Pienaar, while sensei Theresa Pienaar, Jannie Boks and Baine Ocks were officials at the international event. Devon Melk, Deanne Pienaar and Lithan Boks all finished in 2nd place while Zane Esua took top spot in his event.
In the open champs Skey-Lee Jeneker also took 1st place.
Qunten Jonas received both 1st and 2nd places, Caleb Smith took 2nd and 3rd place while Miguel Ocks took 1st and 2nd. Malaika Mogobhozi came in 1st and 2nd places. TJ Niemand took both 1st and 2nd place. Pienaar said he was proud of the students’ progress and thanked the officials for their hard work and the parents for their support.
