The paediatric ward at Vredenburg Provincial Hospital was abuzz with excitement on Saturday 29 March as the Alpha’s Bikers Club from Cape Town made a special visit to the hospital.

Johan de Lange, vice-president and grandfather of brave JD de Lange, led the delegation.

JD, a survivor of a near-drowning incident at just 1 year old, has captured the hearts of the hospital staff and community. His remarkable journey and resilience have earned him the title of “little warrior and angel child”.

Sunette van Wyk, operational manager of the paediatric ward at Vredenburg Hospital, said the Alpha’s Bikers Club presented the paediatric ward with a gift and expressed the ward’s gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion shown to JD and his family.

“The club praised the hospital’s dedication to patient-centred care, love and family support. This heartwarming gesture is a testament to the impact that Vredenburg Hospital has on the lives of its young patients and their families. We are grateful for the recognition and appreciation shown by the Alpha’s Bikers Club.”
