Learners of Langebaan Primary School with the stakeholders involved in the Care Project.

Transformed Women’s Ministry (TWM), a non-profit organisation, in collaboration with SPAR Langebaan and the 4 Special Forces Regiment Langebaan, successfully distributed 186 packs of sanitary pads to girls in Grade 6 and 7 at Langebaan Primary School.

This took place on Tuesday 4 February.

This initiative, known as the Care Project, is part of TWM’s outreach projects aimed at combating period poverty, educating young women on menstrual hygiene and ensuring that girls remain in school during their menstrual cycles.

In 2024, TWM and Spar Langebaan collected a total of 338 packs of sanitary pads, while the 4 Special Forces Regiment Langebaan collected an additional 224 packs.

Petra (Mei) Ebete, the director/founder of TWM, extends her gratitude to Jacques and Neliza Germishuizen of SPAR Langebaan, Chaplain Sisanda K. Mpafi and Captain Marinda Hechter of the 4 Special Forces Regiment Langebaan as well as Principal Melbourne Davids and teacher Sharlene Kordom of Langebaan Primary School.

A word of appreciation also goes to Dr Ronel Viljoen, Symone Pillay and Leilani Cook of Langebaan SPAR for the part they played in this.
