West Coast children have truly been blessed this Christmas through the “Bless a child” drive.
Clayton Mnise in collaboration with Ruth McPherson from Heavenly Haven Retreat decided to make this Christmas even more special through this initiative by asking the individuals and businesses to assist by donating gifts for the children.
The handover of the gifts took place at Seebreeze Caravan Park on Friday 15 December.
The purpose of the initiative was to spread joy and to create a magical moment for the children. One of the highlights of the day was the drumming activity led by Drumba Rhythm for Life.
Mnise said it meant a lot for him to be a part of the initiative, as when he was a child, with his sister they did not have much during the festive season.
“As I grew up I vowed to myself that one day I would make a difference in the lives of children who were like me in those days,” he said.
“It warmed my heart when I saw their genuine and grateful little smiles as they received their gifts.”
McPherson said the drive was nothing short of electric. “The air was filled with laughter, joy and the sound of rhythmic drumming, creating a truly vibrant and heart warming environment,” she said. “The genuine smiles on the children’s faces and the enthusiasm of everyone involved made it an unforgettable day.”
A special thank you goes to each and every person who opened their hearts and made the day a success.
