The West Coast’s top kickboxers are heading to Limpopo to represent the province.

West Coast Kickboxing participated in the Western Cape championships on the weekend of 24-25 March in Hermanus.

The team, consisting of their coach, five officials and 13 fighters, shone on the mat and although the competition was a tough one, walked away with 7 gold, 8 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Sensei Pine Pienaar, coach of the team, and local officials Sensei Theresa Pienaar, Jannie Boks and Baine Ocks will now be heading to the South African championships at the end of the month.

The local kickboxers participating will be Devon Melk, Quenton Jonas, Skey-Lee Jeneker, Zane Esau, Chamira Solomons, Deanne Pienaar, Lithan Boks, Caleb Smith, Ziza Thompson, Meguel Ocks, and Malaika Mogobhozi who will be representing the Western Cape between 28-30 March.

Sensei Pine thanks all the officials for their hard work, the students for their commitment and the support group that continues to support the fighters.
